Eaton Corporation located in Jackson, Michigan, is seeking a Senior Buyer/Planner for New Product Development.

This primary task of this position is purchasing machined metal components, the entire materials planning process including item master and bill of materials creation to support the launch of new product.  Possesses knowledge to ensure products meet quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible price.
Incumbent works with product engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality, and program management to support the ProLaunch process.

Responsibilities include:

A. Represent the JXN plant in new product or program launches.

B. Develop appropriate pricing and delivery from approved Aerospace suppliers.

C. Participate in project teams (ProLaunch, Cost-Out, etc).

D. Ensure the prototype acquisition process is in compliance with SCM policies and procedures.

E. Manage the PCN process from the supply chain perspective to ensure that part master and BOM  integrity is developed and maintained.

F. Develop and document policies and procedures as required.

G. Expedites material, where required to meet shortfall between current plan and customer order requirements

H. Balances current and future demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements.

I. Actively participate in the identification or root cause and development of corrective actions for on time delivery misses to the customer.

J. Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

A. Must understand transition planning.

B. Must be able to accomplish objectives through others even though they are indirect reports.

C. Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.

D. Must be able to interact professionally with customers and suppliers.

E. Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, MS Project or similar).

F. Familiarity with MfgPro is beneficial but not required.  Familiarity with general MRP principles is preferred.

Basic Qualifications:

A. Must have a bachelor’s degree from a nationally accredited institution.

B. A minimum 3 years of experience in Supply Chain.

C. Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

D. Relocation is not offered for this position. Candidates outside of the immediate geographic area will not be considered.
