JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, will have overall accountability for leading the demand planning, forecasting, production scheduling, and inbound material planning functions supporting our Infrastructure division. This role will have overall accountability for identifying and optimizing operations and logistics solutions to ensure proper inventory and supply levels across the business to deliver best-in-class lead times and on time delivery while optimizing inventory turns. In addition, will develop close working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including global sourcing management to manage supplier relationships, marketing & sales to plan for fluctuations in customer demand, and finance to optimize working capital. Critical to success will be bringing a high level of consistency and accuracy to the forecasting and reporting functions, a strategic outlook to the business whereby analysis, input and recommendations are presented on areas where efficiency gains and other decisions will positively benefit the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the strategic direction of the demand and supply planning process, with a focus on outstanding customer service and supply chain visibility while minimizing supply chain risks.
  • Interact with sales, marketing and finance to better understand demand forecast drivers and work to maximize accuracy of the forecasting, planning and replenishment functions.
  • Drive organizational alignment through the S&OP process.
  • Pursue continuous improvement within each of the planning processes.
  • Drive excellence in new product introduction. Help set the service targets for the company and exceed those targets annually. Assure best-practice in inventory management and replenishment.
  • Coach the career growth of supply chain professionals with a focus on providing excellent service to our internal and external customers.
  • Assure the monthly processes are effectively managed and improved and facilitate an engaging and effective cross-functional business meeting.
  • Own the supply-chain portion of annual budgeting and capital planning processes. Collaborate with the senior leadership team to create and continuously revisit a supply chain strategy to meet the evolving needs of the business and our customers.
  • Drive the development and execution of special projects across the entire supply chain. Clearly understand the Supply Chain operational and cost implications of the business strategy and implement this knowledge in all decisions.
  • Produce detailed cost-to-serve models and make cost/service recommendations with the outcome of lowering overall cost to serve within the supply chain and improving velocity of inventory.
  • Drive the development and execution of special projects across the entire supply chain organization as the Project Management expert, including best-practices for production scheduling, plant level-loading, inventory accuracy & control including a robust cycle-counting program, and supply planning toolkit.
  • Work effectively cross functionally with supply chain peer group in identifying, prioritizing and delivering on a wide range of projects and initiatives.
  • Develop systems to optimize material supply across the network of manufacturing facilities within Stanley Infrastructure, including leading the strategy and decision-making process on offshore vs local supply, safety stock levels, order quantities, and logistics for components common to multiple sites and cross-supply of internal components between sites.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or a closely related field required; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 10+ years’ management and leadership in Supply Chain Management.
  • Strategic thinking and comprehensive understanding of industrial manufacturing.
  • Strong organizational, leadership/decision making, creative problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are necessary to effectively convey goals and initiatives to team members and senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work in order to accomplish multiple and changing priorities within specified timeframes and operate at the strategic and tactical/detailed levels.
  • Proactive, energetic, professional self-starter with excellent collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to establish and achieve financial and operational plans and goals including resource and budget planning/management.
  • Excellent numeracy, business acumen, financial analysis and IT skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and diverse business. Strong influencing skills and ability to work cross-functionally to execute key initiatives
