About Toledo APICS

The Toledo Chapter is the local APICS group and supports the society’s aims by providing education classes and promoting the exchange of ideas and learning from others through regular meetings around the Toledo area. apicstoledo.org

Chapter History

The Toledo APICS chapter is one of the oldest APICS chapters. APICS first began in Cleveland in 1957, and soon after the Toledo APICS chapter and was chartered on November 13, 1962. Throughout the years the Toledo APICS chapter has grown and struggled but continues to be a viable chapter with much to offer its members.

In January 2012 the chapter had over 120 individual and enterprisemembers from over 45 area companies. There are also 2 affiliated student chapters, Bowling Green State University and The University of Toledo, with over 60 student members.

The chapter remains strong today due to the hard work accomplished by members who recognize the value of the Toledo APICS chapter.

APICS Chapter Benchmarking and Review Process (CBAR)

APICS introduced CBAR in Chapter Year 2005 – 2006.  With this program each chapter is required to perform an annual self evaluation to ensure it meets minimum performance standards set by APICS. Chapters achieving better than minimum standards can receive Bronze, Silver or Gold awards. The aim of CBAR is to provide chapters with metrics and tools for measurement to permit the Chapter Board to identify chapter strengths and weaknesses and using these results modify their activities to better serve chapter members and others who may use the chapter’s services.

• For its performance in 2010 – 2011 the Toledo chapter received the Gold award, and marking the 5th consecutive year was accorded Platinum chapter status
• For its performance in 2009 – 2010 the Toledo chapter received the Gold award.
• For its performance in 2008 – 2009 the Toledo chapter received the Gold award.
• For its performance in 2007 – 2008 the Toledo chapter received the Gold award.
• For its performance in 2006 – 2007 the Toledo chapter received the Gold award.
• For its performance in 2005 – 2006 the Toledo chapter received the Silver award.
