Bruce Brechin CPIM, CSCP

Originally from Glasgow in Scotland, Bruce started his career in Glasgow and over the intervening years he has also worked in France (Paris), England (near Portsmouth) and in Chandler, AZ, before coming to the Toledo area in December 2000 when he joined First Solar, a world-leading manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels and provider of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems.

Prior to joining First Solar Bruce worked in several different industries and held management positions in Production, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing and Materials.
He has had several roles within First Solar and is currently a member of the replication team responsible for construction and commissioning of new manufacturing plants, both in the USA and overseas, using First Solar’s ‘Copy Smart’ philosophy.

Bruce has been a member of APICS since 2001 and a Toledo Board Member since 2002.

Bruce achieved his CPIM certification in June 2005 and CSCP certification in March 2006 and has maintained both certifications.

In October 2007 at the APICS International Conference in Denver, Colorado, Bruce and Mike Wheatley, CPIM, Chairman of the Board, were jointly awarded the APICS Student Chapter Mentor Award for their support of, and commitment to, the student chapters at Bowling Green State University and The University of Toledo
