March 2019 PDM – Joint Meeting and PDM with the Instutite For Supply Management http://apicstoledo.org/2019/02/joint-meeting-pdm-instutite-supply-management-2/ Wed, 27 Feb 2019 22:27:42 +0000 http://apicstoledo.org/?p=3297 LEAN & the Flip of a Coin

Come to our joint meeting with ISM for this hands-on demonstration of the power of Lean!

Interested in Lean?  Lean is the most efficient way to manage business – any business.  The principles of Lean are not just for manufacturing – they apply to any process including those in the service industry. Lean management involves the systematic identification and elimination of waste and non-value added activities throughout the entire value stream. The principles of Lean come from the work of Taiichi Ohno at Toyota.  He was the manufacturing executive at Toyota responsible for strategically leading the company to not only survive but to thrive in the decades following World War 2.  History underscores his success.

APICS Toledo will be joining the local chapter of ISM for a fun, hands-on evening of Lean learning through participation.  Mr. John Strothers, CPIM, CLTD APICS, and Mr. Bruce Barth, ASQ, will facilitate us through the Lean exercise.  This is a fun hands-on way to see and realize the power of Lean.

Bruce Barth, a retired Master Black Belt, has over 30 years experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality management with Ford Motor Company.

We don’t want you to sit back and listen during this event, we need you to be an active participant! Don’t miss out!
