Every month APICS Toledo Chapter hosts a Supply Chain Event for members, guests and students. Events consist of Professional Development Meetings (PDM), Plant Tours, Social and Board Meetings.

Schindler Elevator Corporation designs, manufactures, installs, services and modernizes a broad range of elevators, escalators and moving walks for almost every building type. Located in Maumee, Ohio is the Schindler Service Center (SSC) a part of Schindler’s Replacement Parts Organization (RPO). This 55,000 sq foot facility utilizes a parallel picking method and the system stocks parts based on usage (velocity) and a stock strategy associated with that method.

SSC has 182,000 active SKU, 33,000 SKU on hand, processes an average of 900 order lines daily while shipping at an overall fill rate of 96.2% to field offices, 3rd party and affiliates.

February 2016 Program

Register for the upcoming Professional Development Meeting – Joint Meeting with ASQ

APICS Toledo is hosting a joint meeting with ASQ (American Society for Quality). Registration will be open from Monday, January 11th thru Friday, January 29th. THERE ARE ONLY 30 SEATS AVAILABLE FOR DINNER, but there is an unlimited number of spots for the tour and game seating. Attendees can enjoy one of two options:

  • $20 Option – Toledo Walleye Hockey Game (7:15 pm) and tour of the Huntington Center (6:45 pm)
  • $30 Option – Toledo Walleye Hockey Game (7:15 pm), tour of the Huntington Center (5:45 pm) and complimentary buffet style dinner (6:30 pm). CASH BAR AVAILABLE

Date: Wednesday, February 17, 2016

Time: Dinner starts at 6:30 PM with a tour beginning prior (5:45 pm if having dinner and 6:45 pm for those not having dinner). Game starts at 7:15 PM. Location: Huntington Center – 500 Jefferson Ave, Toledo OH 43604. Upon arrival, please report to the entrance at Huron and Jefferson – We will be seated in the Goal Zone, section 120. Tickets will be handed out to paid/registered participants AT THIS LOCATION ONLY from 5:15PM to 6:30PM Cost: $20 for tour/game, $30 for tour/game/dinner.

Reservation Deadline: Friday, January 29, 2016

Due to the limited number of spaces for this event, registration will be as follows:

  1. Anyone wishing to register for the event MUST FIRST send an RSVP to programs@apicstoledo.org. Registration begins on Monday, January 11th.
  2. Once you have received reservation confirmation for the event, payment MUST be made online at www.apicstoledo.org. Payment must be received within 5 daysof registration confirmation or your registration will be cancelled. NO PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE DOOR OR AFTER THE EVENT NOTE: For this event, there are NO Student Discounts. Students will need to register at programs@apicstoledo.org.
  3. When registering please note if you wish to attend dinner, tour and game or just tour and game.
  4. An email will go out to the APICS distribution list once all dinner seats have been claimed.
  5. PRICING: $30 for dinner, tour and game. $20 for tour and game
  6. We will be seated in the“Goal Zone” and tickets will be distributed starting 5:15 pm at the entrance on Huron and Jefferson streets.

BGSU Student Chapter Member and Toledo Chapter Member Receive APICS Awards

We are delighted to announce that Rob Everard, a senior at Bowling Green State University, and Karen Eboch, CSCP, Senior Lecturer, BGSU College of Business, were recently recognized by APICS at the APICS 2015 International Conference in Las Vegas.

Rob, (pictured here with Abe Eshkenazi APICS CEO) received the Photo - Rob and AbeStudent Voluntary Service Award which honors an operations management student who has shown a commitment to the APICS vision.

The nominee must demonstrate superior:

  • Contributions to APICS professional chapter, district or association
  • Student chapter leadership
  • Leadership in college / university and other professional associations
  • Community Service The Student Chapter Mentor Award commemorates a mentor’s success in advancing the APICS vision through support of a student chapter.
