WEBINAR - Global Transportation & Logistics

The wide range of interruptions, production delays, unforecasted cost, and reputational damage that can result from unexpected events is tremendous. Today, an increasing number of stakeholders within organizations are tasked with the efficient and error free movement around the globe - including traffic and supply chain departments, procurement teams, risk management, accounting and legal. This session will explore current strategies and risk mitigation practices involved in the global sourcing and use of carriers of all modes, logistics services providers, and warehouses. Attendees will take away a clear picture of procurement trends for those services and emerging norms for minimizing exposure.

Jonathan Todd is a Partner in the Transportation & Logistics Practice Group of the law firm Benesch. The practice was recently named by U.S. News & World Report as the “Law Firm of the Year” in transportation law for 2020. This is the fourth year that it has held that title.
He serves clients in transportation, logistics, and related regulatory compliance matters. Today’s global supply chains are increasingly the measure of enterprise value propositions and even competitive advantage. Jon’s experience yields the vision, dynamic thinking, and pragmatic problem solving that are keys to winning in this economic environment. He demonstrates the command of operational best practices, regulatory requirements, and savvy toward risk tolerances that his clients demand from themselves and their leadership – because the stakes are high.
Fluently speaking the language of global supply chain management makes Jon effective. He understands the players and bottom line business impact because he has been there. Prior to private practice he was Senior Corporate Counsel for a global transportation and logistics provider with operations in North America, Western Europe, and Asia Pacific. He was close to the business as an officer of the international logistics subsidiaries performing freight forwarding, NVOCC, indirect air carrier, and customs brokerage operations, and was instrumental in the day-to-day legal issues of the company’s large motor carriers.
Jon’s expertise in all aspects of the supply chain has proven valuable to both industry at large and to government agencies. The U.S. Transportation Secretary appointed him to a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) advisory committee. The TSA Administrator appointed him to the Surface Transportation Security Advisory Committee. The U.S. Commerce Secretary has appointed him to a District Export Council. The Ohio Governor appointed him to the Executive Order of the Ohio Commodores. He is also a voting member of the American Trucking Association’s Supply Chain Security Policy Committee and the Air Forwarders Association’s Regulatory Compliance Committee.
